The village of Edingale lies in the county of Staffordshire close to the borders of Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire in an area known as the Mease Valley.
Situated in a rather idyllic rural setting it lies equidistant from the towns of Burton to the north, Tamworth to
the south east and the City of Lichfield to the south west. Not far from the major road network there is easy
access to the M1, M6 and M5 motorways and all points north, south, east and west.
Due to economic pressures and the proximity of the nearby towns the village shop and post office have passed
into history but the infant school is still providing an educational grounding for the new generations.
Looking over the village from the top of the hill as it has for the past one hundred and twenty five years is the
Holy Trinity Church and, as is usually the case, the village pub is not too far away.
The village hall and playing fields provide recreational facilities for the community.
There is no visible industry within the village apart from agriculture being surrounded on all sides by a mixture
of arable and dairy farms.
It is with great sadness Edingale Parish Council would like to report the passing of a former Councillor Mr Paul Everson.
Paul and his family moved to Edingale in the late 1980,s, during this time Paul took an active role in Village life. He generously gave his time too many committee's including the Friends of Mary Howard and Edingale Parish Council. With an IT background Paul took responsibility for the Parish website. To Paul's credit the site offered more than just an insight into Edingale, it offered a gateway for people seeking to trace family and passed relatives from our Village. Thanks to Paul's dedication and also local historian Carmel Mason, much information has been exchanged to the delight of many. Paul unselfishly continued with this work until quite recently despite his ongoing illness.
The Parish Council wishes to express its appreciation for Paul's service and contribution to village life. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
